A Novel Tale: Jordan's 4th Birthday

A very excited little boy came running down the hallway this morning exclaiming very loudly that it was his 4th birthday. Jordan slept in past everyone (except Dad) so we were all up and waiting for him. He was greeted in the kitchen by presents big and small and couldn't wait to rip into them.

The gifts he got were:

- Little People Car Racing Ramp

- Scooter

- Tech Deck skateboard

- Blue Rainbow Friends plush toy

- Doctors kit

- Sonic T-shirt

- X-Shot nurf gun

The morning flew by as the boys played with Jordan and his toys. The car ramp and nurf gun getting the most use. Scarlett enjoyed playing with the wrapping paper on the floor as the chaos swam around her but was quickly scooped up and moved out the way as the scooter was being used up and down the hallway.

At 11am, Noel piled the boys into the car and headed off to the city as he had bought tickets for them all to see Monster Jam. It was a big surprise and they didn't know where they were going until they arrived. They were thrilled of course and had an amazing time. Jordan told me when he got home that it was SO loud and Dad had to buy them all ear muffs. They all agreed that the best parts were watching the monster trucks jump in the air and when they crashed.

In the evening Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner. The grown ups had Thai and the kids had a mixture of burgers and chicken nuggets. They gave Jordan a Pikachu plush toy as well as many colouring books, clothes and a Captain America action figure.

Grandma made her famous chocolate cake, decorated with smarties and dinosaur lollies. As we sang happy birthday, Jordan started of shy but then got a burst of pure joy and had the biggest grin on his face.

What an beautiful blessing this boy is to us. He fills our house with laughter and happiness.
